International President's Message - January 2022

Warren Kruse

HTCIA Members:

My name is Warren Kruse and I’m your 2022-23 International President.  I hope everyone is well and staying safe!

I’d like to thank our 2021 President Todd Shipley and 2020-2021 International Executive Committee Sheila Mellor, Kenneth Haynes, Jude Buckley and Brandt Watkins for all their hard work over the last two years.  I’d like to introduce the 2022 International Executive Committee: Denis Roussel, Jessica Hyde, Kenneth Haynes and Jude Buckley along with are outstanding management from Executive Director Libby Maynard, Gabby, Karen and Juliette!

HTCIA has been busy and moving forward despite the pandemic. We have used more virtual meetings then before, more hybrid meetings then we ever have and are increasing our virtual training and communication mediums.  The new learning management system is going to be a huge improvement and benefit.

Our 2020 International conference was totally virtual. In 2021 the conference was a hybrid of in-person and virtual.  It was great to see people in Phoenix, share meals and stories and just catch up with our HTCIA friends.  Hopefully the 2022 conference will have more attendees in-person, assuming and hoping it is safe to do so!  It was twenty years ago that we held an awesome conference in Atlantic City NJ.  I know I’m partial as I was cochair with Cynthia Hetherington and George Wade but we will be working with the current Conference Committee to make 2022 even better!

The Canada Cyber Summit is virtual this year and the registration is open.  Login (to the NEW and greatly improved member site) at HTCIA.org to get info and register at a special member rate of just $175.  The International Executive Committee also voted this past Thursday to create a conference pay one price passport which means for one low payment you can attend BOTH the Canada Cyber Summit AND the International Conference.  A tremendous amount of training, networking and value for only $500 USD.

The International Conference webpage has information on the conference, the Hard Rock Hotel in Atlantic City, travel recommendations and sponsors can also register on the webpage.  Individual registrations will open soon.  The speakers that have committed already are amazing.  I have a running list in the forum area on htcia.org.  Any questions, comments, concerns on the International conference you can always email me and info@htcia.org but also please post in the forum so other members can benefit.   More great papers are still coming in and the speaker forum will be updated as accepted.  Call for Papers is still open here but we will be maxed out of speakers soon so don’t wait too long.

The support from our vendors was tremendous and we are grateful for their continued participation in HTCIA events. We already had two sponsors for the International Conference before the year even began.   Our supporting sponsors have also been making themselves available to the chapters for presentations on their products.

Looking forward to 2022. I am sure that the new year will bring another set of challenges for all of us. HTCIA as an organization will meet those challenges and provide our membership with the best ongoing professional high technology training available, “by investigators for investigators”. Please stay informed with your chapters trainings and keep supporting our sponsors.

We look forward to seeing everyone at virtual and in-person meetings!
