Tuesday, June 21, 2022 (12:00 PM - 3:00 PM) (EDT)

Description

This free webinar is open to anyone who is interested in attending. The speakers will discuss how to harness the internet to bring relevant information to light during time sensitive situations. We will discuss utilizing google, images, social media, and platforms known to attract bad actors.

We will show how geofences can be used to uncover hidden relationships between seemingly non-related data, locating other possible persons of interest, victims, and assets involved. Finally, when persons of interest try to stay anonymous, we will show how our tool can trace their digital footprint to uncover illicit online activity and tie it back to (and identify) the possible suspect.

The presentation will also discuss recent topical caselaw.

The Importance of Geo-analysis in Cyber Investigations

By: John Sedoski - Customer Success Manager at Cobwebs Technologies

“Investigators and analysts have an enormous amount of location-based OSINT data at their fingertips. While geolocated intelligence is critical in any investigation, it's often overwhelming and difficult to quickly piece together. Using location-based OSINT data, this presentation will focus on the use of Webloc in several crimes against person cases to quickly locate and identify potential offenders. We will show how geofences can be used to uncover hidden relationships between seemingly non-related data, locating other possible persons of interest, victims, and assets involved. Finally, when persons of interest try to stay anonymous, we will show how our tool can trace their digital footprint to uncover illicit online activity and tie it back to (and identify) the possible suspect”.

John is a public sector specialist focused on the law enforcement community and the technology providers who support them. A trusted advisor with a reputation for building strategic partnerships through an approach that is proactive, responsive, and aligned by common goals. Using data, industry knowledge and a technical skillset, I’ve successfully helped create demand and facilitate referrals.
