Presenter Bio:
Blake Sawyer is certified as a LEVA Forensic Video Analyst and an IAI Certified Forensic Video Examiner. He has taught courses with LEVA and served on their board. His daily focus is helping video examiners better understand the scientific workflow of Video Forensics. Currently, he serves on as the chair of the AI subcommittee for SWGDE (Scientific Working Group for Digital Evidence) as well as the Video subcommittee at OSAC (Organization of Scientific Area Committees). Before joining Amped Software in 2019, Blake worked for the Plano Police Department (Plano, TX), where he established the digital media unit of their Crime Scene.
Presentation Description:
How often do you see, either in casework or in the news, talk about deepfakes, "cheap fakes", and manipulated media? If only there were a way to sort through what's fake and what's "real". This presentation will review the definition of integrity and authenticity verification. We’ll discuss how to analyze issues such as of deepfakes, forgeries, and image and video source and encoding questions.
