Northern California Huddle: Using AI for High Tech Investigations

Northern California Huddle: Using AI for High Tech Investigations

Thursday, July 30, 2026 (9:30 AM - 12:30 PM) (PDT)

Description

An open, attendee-led discussion on how we’re putting AI to work in real investigations - the wins, the workarounds, and the lessons learned along the way. We’re focused on AI as an investigator’s assistant to identify leads faster and more efficiently. Evaluating alternative explanations and defending conclusions is still your job.

 * Demos are welcome

 * Misadventures & funny moments count

 * Bring your python parsers, Powershell scripts or the biography/identity generated for your sock puppet No experience required.

Whether you’re actively using AI tools or just curious where to start, this roundtable is for you. Come ready to listen, share, and learn from your peers. Here are some ideas on how to prepare:

 * Bring one example— it does not need to be a masterpiece. A single prompt you ran, a script you generated.

* Document what you asked it to— if you have a script or parser, jot down the prompt or task you gave the model so others can understand the workflow.

 * Note what worked and what didn’t— even partial successes are worth sharing.

 * Consider the context— think about where in your workflow AI helped most (writing boilerplate, parsing unfamiliar formates, quick syntax lookups).

 * Keep it practical — no slides or formal presentations needed.

Be mindful of your confidentiality obligations. Avoid sharing any case-specific details or protected information in your examples; sanitize or anonymize as needed before the meeting.
