Northern California Chapter - Special Event

Northern California Chapter - Special Event

Thursday, July 27, 2023

Description

The Northern California Chapter is pleased to announce that Arsenal President Mark Spencer has agreed to come to California to spend the day with us, providing a series of presentations that can only be seen in person. If that sounds cryptic and mysterious, it absolutely is and trust us, you'll want to be there for this FREE training!

The event is open to members and non-members alike, but in the likely event that we reach capacity at the venue, current members will get first dibs.  So members PLEASE CHECK YOUR MEMBERSHIP STATUS WHILE YOU'RE THERE.

It will be held on Thursday, July 27th from 0930 to 1600(ish) at the California DOJ Bureau of Gambling Control conference room at 2450 Del Paso Road Suite 100, Sacramento, CA. You can access the building at the east side entrance.  Park anywhere you’d like on the east or south side of the building (open parking lot).  See below for a map of the location.

Here's a little more about Mark:

Mark is President of Arsenal Consulting, where he leads engagements involving digital forensics for law firms, corporations, and government agencies. Mark is also President of Arsenal Recon, where he guides development of digital forensics tools. He has more than 20 years of law-enforcement and private-sector digital forensics experience. He has led the Arsenal team on many high-profile and high-stakes cases, from allegations of intellectual-property theft and evidence spoliation to support of terrorist organizations and military coup plotting. Mark has testified in cases which include United States v. Mehanna and United States v. Tsarnaev.

Here’s a couple testimonials from other HTCIA chapters:

“Arsenal President Mark Spencer made quite an impression on the members of the HTCIA Singapore chapter! Despite the late evening, Mark delivered a lively, emotional and mind-blowing presentation that captured everyone’s hearts and minds from beginning till the end. He was a natural storyteller due to his vivid memories of working with his team and clients during challenging times. Mark shared how his team unraveled mysteries and determined high-stakes evidence tampering had occurred when others had failed. HTCIA Singapore members not only gained much technical knowledge during Mark’s presentation, but felt empathetic towards innocent people crushed by forged electronic evidence. Well done, Arsenal!”
JASMINE CHUA, Secretary, HTCIA Singapore Chapter (2019)

“Arsenal President Mark Spencer took a day out of his busy schedule to fly out to our HTCIA chapter meeting and share his experiences with electronic evidence tampering. Our members were thoroughly impressed by his skill, knowledge and passion as he recounted several cases where going the extra mile meant all the difference in bringing justice to innocent people. His four hour presentation was a great reminder that finding the truth may require us to go beyond our current tools and techniques. The fact that his company shares details about some of their high-stakes cases demonstrates Mark Spencer’s commitment to our industry. Highly recommended speaker!”
DOUGLAS BARLAND, President, HTCIA Minnesota Chapter (2019)
